Our story

A family that went looking for better water, and decided to help others find it

Springhouse Water Club is a new, family-owned water treatment company based in Ballston Spa, New York. This is why we exist and how we work.

It started at our own kitchen sink

Springhouse Water Club began with a simple goal: a better water-treatment solution for our own family. We were not trying to start a business. We wanted to stop wondering about the water we drank, cooked with, and bathed our kids in every day.

So we did what most homeowners do. We met with several water treatment companies in the area and listened to what they proposed. The solutions were competent, but they were narrow: soften the water, improve the taste, and leave the rest alone. We wanted more than softened water or a better-tasting glass. We wanted a comprehensive approach, one that addressed hardness, chlorine and chloramine at every tap, and the drinking water at the kitchen sink, with equipment we could stand behind.

That search led us to Puronics

Puronics — Pure Water SolutionsPuronics celebrates 75 years, since 1947

Puronics traces its roots to 1947, when it began as the consumer water products group of Ionics, Incorporated, a separations-technology company. It became an independent company in 2006 and has been part of Franklin Electric since 2021. Puronics designs and manufactures its residential systems in Livermore, California, and sells them through a network of independent local dealers. Its systems carry Water Quality Association certification to specific NSF/ANSI standards, which means the performance claims we repeat on this site were tested by a third party rather than written by a marketing department.

That combination, decades of engineering, independently certified performance, and whole-house systems that go beyond traditional softening, gave us the confidence we had been looking for. We believed families in our community deserved access to the same solutions. That is why we founded Springhouse Water Club and became an authorized Puronics dealer for Saratoga County and the surrounding Capital Region.

Why "Springhouse"

Before refrigeration, farms across Upstate New York built small stone springhouses over a spring or stream. Cold water ran through a channel in the floor, keeping milk, butter and produce cool and the water itself clean and moving. They were modest, practical buildings that did one job well for a very long time.

We chose the name because that is what good water treatment should be: unglamorous, well built, and quietly reliable for decades. The emblem in our logo is a springhouse with water flowing from its door, which is also the idea behind the architectural study on our homepage.

"Club" is simply part of our registered name. There is no membership, subscription or program to join. You are our customer, not a member, and nothing on this site is gated.

How we work

We bring the same personal commitment into every home we serve, and the process is the same for every household:

  1. In-home water testing. We visit, test the treatment-relevant conditions of your water, look at your plumbing and fixtures, and ask how your household uses water. What the test covers.
  2. Personalized recommendations. You get a plain-language explanation of the results and a written quote for a system, or a combination, that fits your water and your home. Other Puronics configurations may be recommended based on your water test; we are not limited to the four systems featured on this site.
  3. Professional installation by experienced local plumbers. The system is installed, commissioned, and explained to you before we leave. How installation works.

What you can expect from us

  • A recommendation based on your water, not on a sales target. If your water does not need treatment, we will say so.
  • Claims we can support. Where we repeat a manufacturer performance claim, we say which certification it rests on and what it does not cover.
  • Clear separation between our in-home screening and certified laboratory testing. If a health question needs a lab, we will tell you.
  • Written quotes, written warranty terms, and no pressure to decide on the spot.
  • A local company. When you call after installation, you reach the people who sold and installed your system.

We are a new business, and we would rather earn your trust with how we work than claim a track record we have not built yet. As we complete projects and customers share feedback, we will add those stories here.

What began as a search for better water for our own family has become our commitment to yours. Because better water is about more than what we drink. It is about peace of mind, confidence in every drop, and the quality of life we create at home.
